Price Increases: Why Your Club’s Membership Cost May Change 

From time to time, your club’s membership price may change. We understand that pricing updates can raise questions, so this article explains why these changes happen, how they are communicated, and what options are available to you.

Why Do Membership Prices Change?

Each club regularly reviews its membership categories, including PlayMoreGolf memberships. As part of this evaluation, a club may decide that a change to its membership pricing is necessary.

Any pricing decision is made by the club itself. We always work closely with the club to ensure that any change supports their business needs while also considering member experience and retention.

When Do Price Changes Take Effect?

  • Membership price changes usually take effect on the 1st of a month.

  • Affected members will be contacted at least two weeks in advance of the change.

This notice period ensures you have time to review the change and make an informed decision.

Can I Renew at the Old Price?

Yes. If you receive notice of a price increase, you will have the option to renew early at the existing price before the new rate takes effect.

Membership Cost Changes vs Matrix Changes

It’s important to note the difference between these two types of changes:

  • Membership cost changes

    • Typically occur on the 1st of a month

    • Members are given at least two weeks’ notice

  • Matrix changes

    • Can occur at any time during the year

    • Members will still receive a minimum of two weeks’ notice so they can make an informed decision

How Much Do Memberships Cost?

Membership prices are set directly by each individual club. As a guide, costs typically range from:

  • £400 – for example, 80 Home points and 20 Flexi points

  • Up to £850 – for example, 160 Home points and 40 Flexi points

Exact pricing and point allocations will vary depending on the club.
