In the past, tee sheet providers would automatically block out a full tee time once a booking had been made—regardless of how many players were in the group. This meant that a single-player (or "one ball") booking would prevent anyone else from booking the remaining slots in that tee time.
What Has Changed?
Over the last few years, most tee sheet providers have adopted paired tee time functionality. This means that if only one player books into a tee time, the remaining slots (up to three) are still available for other members or guests to book.
This change allows for:
-
Better course utilisation
-
Increased availability for players
-
Greater flexibility for clubs and members
Who Can Book the Remaining Slots?
The remaining tee time slots can be booked by:
-
Full Members
-
PMG Members
-
Guests
How Will I Know If a Tee Time is Paired?
Within the app:
-
Darker grey tee times indicate that the slot will be blocked once booked (non-paired).
-
Light grey tee times indicate paired availability. If you book this type of tee time, you may be paired with other players.
You’ll also receive a notification during the booking process to inform you if the tee time is a paired slot.
Can I Opt Out of Being Paired With Others?
Pairing policies are managed individually by each golf club. If you prefer not to be paired:
-
You can contact the club directly to ask if it’s possible to book the full tee time.
-
Please note: Booking all remaining slots may require additional points or incur extra charges, depending on the club's policy.
Club Control and Customisation
Each golf club retains full control over how they manage their tee sheet settings. While most clubs currently enable paired tee times, this can be changed by the club at any time.
Summary
-
Paired tee times are now standard for most clubs.
-
Available slots remain open unless the tee time is fully booked.
-
Tee time colour coding and notifications in the app help identify paired vs. non-paired slots.
-
Clubs may charge more if you request to block out an entire tee time.
If you have specific preferences or concerns, please contact your club directly to discuss your options.
