Member protection is an optional protection feature that gives you peace of mind in case something unexpected stops you from enjoying your membership. When you add membership protection to your PlayMoreGolf membership, you’re covered for specific situations where you may no longer be able to play — helping you recover your membership fee if life takes an unexpected turn.

Life doesn’t always go to plan — and sometimes, that can mean time away from the golf course.


That’s why we’ve introduced Membership Protection, a new optional protection that gives PlayMoreGolf members added reassurance if unforeseen circumstances stop them from playing.

Why We’ve Introduced It

At PlayMoreGolf, we know how much your membership means to you. But we also know that things can change — from injury or illness to relocation or redundancy.

In the past, refund requests relied on goodwill and club discretion. With Membership Protection, you now have a clear, simple, and fair route to refund your membership fee if life throws you a curveball.

What’s Covered

You can request a refund of your membership fee if you’re unable to play due to any of the following:

  • Death
  • Physical injury
  • Sickness
  • Relocation
  • Redundancy

How It Works

  1. Opt-In at Checkout:
    You’ll see the option to add Club Membership Protection at the end of the checkout process.
    • The cost is 8% of your membership fee (e.g., £60 on a £750 membership).
    • It’s completely optional and transparently shown before you complete payment.
  2. Confirmation:
    Once selected, it will appear in your membership confirmation email.
  3. Making a Refund:
     If you need to make refund application, simply submit your request online through our refund partner Simple Refunds. 
    • Refunds are handled directly by SimpleRefunds.
    • You’ll receive quick and fair resolution with no additional admin from PlayMoreGolf or your club.
